New Years Eve in Greensboro

I decided at the last minute to take the kids on a road trip to Greensboro , NC to see my grandmother (momma) and all my aunts and cousins.

This is Louise's tree! GORGEOUS..We spent the evening playing spades and WII all night to ring in the new year!

Crystal looked great with her new hair cut. She brought Moscato and made tasty jello shots!

Nesmith Christmas

God is good and we are so blessed!
The kids were thrilled with all their gifts of course..

Mommabird even got a digital camera YAY!

Big kids got 3 new wii games, paint sets, books, clothes, and host of other gifts.

and Ava got a bike (peep the video) She had to wear tights, ms. kitty glitterized shoes and a skirt!

All in the house was quiet. Mommy and Santa wrapped all the gifts...

Can't say anything else because well the kids are reading this blog! SHHHHHHH

I love this tree..totally forgot last year I bought prelit tree..SO HAPPY I did that!

We also put christmas icicles on the house for the first time..BEAUtiful!!!

So GO TO BED and wait for Santa!

Ava's Christmas Concert

On December 14th we received invitations to Ava's very first Christmas concert.

We were told she'd be reciting a poem (and saying/reading more than anyone in her class.)

When we walked in she was blowing kisses to the audience. WOW what a star.

But we already knew that!

We were very proud of her.

These Elf Hats! Every year since 2000 I've done Christmas Card PHOTO SHOOTS. They've all made it to my scrapbooks and even to a magazine or two!

They almost always include some sort of Christmas Head Gear from Snowflakes (2001) to Reindeer Ears (2000) to Santas Hats.

We've done glamorous ones by the fireplace holding ornaments (2002) , last year they held little velvet gift boxes (2008). One year they held Sesame Street stockings adorned with Elmo and Big Bird. (courtesy of Nana).

So I got this bright idea to do a THEMED christmas card every year with the kids.

It almost always involves a Head Piece. I've made it my mission to find all these and continue to add them to my Christmas Album. I'm a few years behind *cough cough*.

Allys Thanksgiving Hair

Allys hair changes every 2 weeks..this is her *do* for Thanksgiving. Its finally starting to grow and look healthy after a summer full of swimming and sun!

I don't know what will happen when Basketball season starts in December!

Man Down!

Mommabird takes a fall!

I'm too old to be falling. While leaving work on Monday I tripped on wire mesh and slammed into the concrete sidewalk right on my left knee..

The kids took special care of me, I don't know what I'd do without them.

Ouch!!!!

New inductee into Jr. Beta Club

Allyson was up singing in the mirror this morning JayZ's "All black everything" as she was getting dressed for her Jr. Beta Club induction ceremony. Mommy picked out her outfit of red and black top with scarf, black velvet skirt with ruffles, black tights and black flats!





Daddy, Mommy and Ms. Ava cheered her on and Daddy did the pinning.

Proud Parents?? Yes we are!

I'm in the process of adding labels to the older posts from 2005 .. please go back and revisit those pages since they were taken with my digital camera and look so much better. The current photos are with my blackberry so they are not as clear.

My goal is to get a new camera (for christmas) hint and hint and then have more vivid images and longer posts...to share with you guys .. again..like I used to before Life got me FLYING!

Nuffin Scary - Halloween 2009

We have a boxer, a purple pixie fairie and lil red riding hood.

It took 2 days and 4 stores to find something for all 3 but we did!!!

Eye Spy a Sick Eye..

Ms. Ava has been battling with what we called a Stye for over a month. We've used warm compresses and nothing seems to work. Finally we got an appointment with an eye specialist and they are making strides to have it BE GONE for good! We are now using a cream thats both a steriod and antibiotic. Praying it works.

If not we may have to have it surgically removed. UGH I panic at that thought.

Even though she could barely see she managed to entertain the nurse and doctor with her charm.

Quick Fix Dinner

Homemade Pizzas are a breeze and the kids can almost make them without my help!

We always do cheese, pepperoni and for Grandma we added onions, black olives and green peppers!

Play Food Challenge #1 - Desserts

The kids (and I) watch the Food Network religiously!

Our Favorite Shows are Challenge and Downhome with the Neely's.



We now have our own Challenges at Home using PLAYDOH.

So Grand ma came to visit and the kids helped her cook in and outside of the kitchen.
